Where to watch the World Cup in Richmond
The World Cup starts this Thursday, with matches taking place across North America for the next month.
Unfortunately for Richmonders, the closest the action we'll get is Philadelphia and Atlanta. However, plenty of bars and restaurants will be airing the games, many with food and drink specials...

Every four years, Richmond's media heads down Franklin Street to document the city's soccer scene through its original British pub. This year will be no exception.

House of Futbol in the Diamond District will host watch parties. According to owner Edward Florez, his idea “is to show or play every single game of the World Cup.” Guests will be able to enjoy coffee, finger food, and “the beautiful game (we) call soccer.”

Gus’ Bar and Grill
Gus’ Bar and Grill was packed as Arsenal won the Premier League this year, and will be showing “all World Cup matches” on its televisions.

Scotty’s Taphouse
Scotty’s Taphouse in Scott’s Addition will show every game on their 23 TVs and big screen. They will also have a rotating "Wings Around the World" feature with internationally inspired wing sauces celebrating countries competing in the World Cup, and Casamigos Goal Shooter specials after every goal (available for five minutes following each score).

British Embassy Fish and Chips
The British Embassy Fish and Chips will show all matches “in a true British football atmosphere.” They will have a limited menu with “a full selection of (their) savory meat pies, plenty of sausage rolls and an abundance of beer.”

Game Plan Bar in Midlothian will have a USA World Cup Pop-Up with themed cocktails, “Game Plan Glizzies,” and World Cup- and America 250-inspired decor.

Performance Pickleball RVA in Regency Shopping Mall will have a watch party at its bar and restaurant. Renée Laaser, Director of Events, said the group stage matches – lasting from June 11 to 27 – will be shown on their four 85-inch TVs with a “state-of-the-art stadium audio system” and “food and drink specials.” She added that the event will be open to the public.

Importante Bodega Bar in Carytown will be showing all the matches live and serving “authentic Spanish cuisine and refreshing drinks.”

Industrial Taphouse West
Industrial Taphouse West in Short Pump plans to broadcast the World Cup, according to Assistant General Manager Rhianna Reese. They will be showing all the matches across their 10 TVs, as well as drink specials, which have already started. Reese said they might do food specials, but they “haven’t fully decided on those” yet.

Wood + Iron’s Short Pump location will be showing the matches and “offering featured drinks,” according to Marketing and Catering Director, Casey Ryan. The sports bar also has locations in Scott's Addition and Midlothian.

Bingo Beer Co. in Scott’s Addition is hosting a watch party for the first U.S. match on Friday at 9 p.m. in their Beer Garden, with “plenty of cold beer to go around.”
