About us
The Richmonder, launched in late 2024, is a fast-growing nonprofit newsroom in the Richmond region. We’re 100% local, staffed by award-winning journalists who care deeply about Richmond. We highlight issues that impact us all, and give voice to people and neighborhoods often left out of the conversation.
We’re dedicated to making Richmond better through meticulous, responsible reporting, and we offer it free of charge so that all can participate in civic life.

Newsletter sponsorships
As a nonprofit newsroom, our primary method of corporate support is sponsorships. Sponsorships acknowledge your business and link to your site, but cannot offer calls to action.
Corporate rate: $2,000 per newsletter
Nonprofit rate: $1,000 per newsletter

Full package includes:
- Introductory text "above the fold"
- Leaderboard ad, which is 728x90
- Block with photo and copy after the day's top stories. The image in the body must be at least 900 pixels wide and horizontal.
- Sponsorships currently limited to one per newsletter.

The Richmonder has two annual signature events with sponsorship opportunities.

- Includes logo prominently featured on all marketing materials to include The Richmonder’s newsletter series highlighting each honoree, event website, signage, and program guide.
- 24 tickets plus reserved seating with special welcome gifts.

- Exclusive recognition as Presenting Sponsor.
Gold Sponsor: $10,000
- Includes logo featured on event marketing materials, event website, signage, and the program guide.
