UPDATE: Four arrests made, all youth, in Shockoe car smashing case

Richmond police say they arrested four juveniles early Sunday morning as they were smashing the windows of vehicles in Church Hill.

In a press release, the department said there may be a connection between the four and two high-profile incidents last week in Shockoe Bottom.

The four were all males, ages 15, 16, 17 and 17 — all from Richmond. Names were not released.

"Among items seized from the suspects were two window punches – handheld devices used to shatter vehicle windows," a police spokesperson wrote. "Detectives are in consultation with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney regarding charges for the four juvenile males."
