Richmond, Chesterfield return to school Wednesday, while Henrico and Hanover stay closed

Students in Richmond City and Chesterfield County will return to school on Wednesday after a seven-day absence.

Both localities announced a return to in-person schooling, but with a two-hour delay to allow buses time to navigate neighborhood roads that remain icy in spots.

In Henrico County, Wednesday will be another "remote learning day."

Hanover County announced it won't resume in-person school on Wednesday or Thursday, saying that "roadways across Hanover, especially in neighborhoods, are better suited for bobsledding than school buses."

Richmond's school board will discuss converting planned holiday and work days into additional in-person days at Tuesday night's meeting.
