School board to consider renaming Armstrong High School, community members are split
Armstrong High School's history dates back to 1865, but the building it currently resides in used to belong to John F. Kennedy High School.
A group of Kennedy alumni have asked the school board to rename the school to Armstrong-Kennedy High, as it was named from 1979-1985.
Armstrong alumni argued against the change, and said that their school's brand is the stronger of the two. Read more on the dispute here.

In the Fan, plans for a carriage house collide with a longtime alley garden
For 35 years, Hanover Avenue resident Rick Bridgforth has tended an alley garden for the community.
But he doesn't own the land it sits on.
Now that developer has proposed removing the garden to create an additional housing unit.

Richmond asking for development proposals for Intermediate Terminal site
The building, which dates to 1938, was supposed to house Stone Brewing's bistro, but a study cited by the brewery said the building could not be renovated at a reasonable cost.
