Hanover animal control will sell 'drunk raccoon' t-shirts after story goes viral
An offbeat news story has made Ashland the center of the universe, at least for the moment.
Early Saturday morning, a raccoon found its way into the ABC store, where it knocked over bottles of liquor. An animal control officer later found the raccoon face-down in the store's bathroom, passed out.
The story quickly made the rounds nationally:
Now, the group is turning the story into a fundraiser.
"We’re grateful for a community that can find joy in a unique moment and help turn it into something that benefits animals in need," Hanover animal control wrote on its Facebook page.

The shirt will be available for a limited time, with proceeds going to animal control efforts in Hanover County.
