Price check: Where do the amphitheater's drink prices rank among other Richmond venues?

The Allianz Amphitheater has made headlines for its natural beauty and the major acts it is bringing to Richmond, but also for its parking situation and its food and drink prices.

So writer Dave Infante set out to find: How does it compare to similar outdoor entertainment venues in town and elsewhere? A 24 oz. can of Modelo costs $19.50, which is more expensive than 75% of NFL stadiums last year.

Fox Elementary reopens three years after devastating fire

More than 1,000 attendees lined up around the block Wednesday evening to take a tour and get a peek at Fox's new interior.

“The fact that we are here, standing in front of this beautiful, reimagined Fox, proves what is possible when a community refuses to give up,” said Principal Daniela Jacobs. Read more here, and see photos from inside the building.

City’s hired attorneys ask judge to block former FOIA officer from filing FOIA requests

The city of Richmond wants a judge to order its former Freedom of Information Act officer to stop filing FOIA requests for city documents.

The city’s representatives also accused Connie Clay of “leaking incorrect information to the news media about this case” and accused her of helping to stir up news coverage of how much the city is paying attorneys to fight Clay in court. Read more here.

Joseph Lowe brings horror movie lovers together

Sometime around 2004, the McCormack's bartender started bringing in his DVD collection of horror movies and screening them for Sunday night patrons in Shockoe Bottom.

Now it's a weekly tradition, complete with popcorn.

"It's a really comfortable environment, and easy to talk to people, and I think that represents both the bar and the town," he said. Read more here.
