Incredibolt won the Virginia Derby on Saturday afternoon at Colonial Downs, guaranteeing the horse a starting spot at this year's Kentucky Derby.

The day of racing drew 9,762 people to the New Kent racetrack, with the $500,000 prize for the winner part of a larger payment pool generated by the success of the Rosie's gambling outlets across the state.

The Kentucky Derby ties are thanks to the purchase of the track by Churchill Downs, which owns the famed horse race, in 2022.
