We made the most of our inaugural appearance last night, bringing home **20 awards** for the work we did last year! Most excitingly, education reporter **Victoria A. Ifatusin** was named the state’s best across all divisions of publication! 🍎 In case you missed her work last year, Victoria [told the story of a successful reading program](https://www.richmonder.org/brilliant-at-the-basics-how-one-elementary-school-is-beating-the-trends-and-boosting-literacy-rates/), uncovered that [RPS didn’t have an auditor](https://www.richmonder.org/rps-pays-former-auditor-30-790-remains-quiet-about-his-departure/), shared the history of [a historic Bellevue home on school property](https://www.richmonder.org/does-anybody-want-this-historic-home-in-bellevue-if-not-rps-is-ready-to-tear-it-down/), made test scores [easy to understand](https://www.richmonder.org/data-five-things-to-know-about-this-years-sol-test-scores/) and profiled a Communities in Schools coordinator [making a difference on Richmond’s Southside](https://www.richmonder.org/25-in-25-angela-jordan-wears-all-hats-serving-high-school-students/). It was a big night for other Richmonder writers as well. - **Graham Moomaw** and **Sarah Vogelsong** were honored for their work covering the [FOIA whistleblower trial](https://www.richmonder.org/richmonds-lawyers-told-a-judge-a-phone-was-lost-in-an-airport-city-documents-show-it-might-have-been-found/). - Our development crew of **Beth Weisbrod** and **Anne-Marie Worthy** won an “Innovation” award for our [25 in ‘25 series](https://www.richmonder.org/the-richmonder-presents-25-in-25/) of community heroes. - Freelancer Rich Griset was named the top feature writer at an online publication for [his work chronicling Richmond](https://www.richmonder.org/neon-moon-the-story-of-richmonds-own-neon-sign/). **And The Richmonder was named the “Best Digital Newsletter” in the state!** We’re thrilled the judging panel saw what we’ve known since launch, that The Richmonder is succeeding because we have the most talented crew in town, working every day to tell the stories that matter most to you.
