Ghazala Hashmi, D-Chesterfield, declared victory Tuesday night in a neck-and-neck-and-neck competition for the Lieutenant Governor nomination. Hashmi had 27.5% of the vote, with former Richmond Levar Stoney at 26.7% and State Sen. Aaron Rouse at 26.2%. 🚰 Of Richmond's 72 voting precincts, Stoney won just 14 of them, with many voters telling The Richmonder that two recent water crises were top of mind as they cast their ballot. Hashmi will now run alongside gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger and attorney general candidate Jay Jones in the November general election.
