The law was recently amended to allow the cameras at "high-risk intersection segments" as well — 31 of Richmond's fit the criteria. 🚦 But unlike school zone cameras, money generated by them would go to the state, meaning the city would face a budget deficit by installing them. City Council will discuss the possibility on June 23, balancing traffic safety with the potential cost. It's also "structurally deficient" and needs replacing. - Plans call for the bridge to be completely closed during the work. - During that time, Arthur Ashe Boulevard will also be partially closed, creating potential headaches for Northsiders. Mayor Danny Avula's administration sent a memo calling the legislation “inappropriate and counterproductive” as it attempts to recruit the best talent to City Hall. A vote is expected on Monday.
