# Henrico's water judged best in America by experts

The American Water Works Association [awarded Henrico top honors](https://www.awwa.org/AWWA-Articles/henrico-water-wins-best-of-the-best-taste-test-at-awwas-annual-conference/) at its annual conference this week in Denver, a gathering of more than 11,000 water professionals. 

According to the group, the “Best of the Best” Water Taste Test is comprised of regional winners of water taste test competitions.

"A panel of esteemed judges rates each water sample on its flavor characteristics," according to the group's website.

Henrico's water treatment facility provides water to most of the county, as well as residents in Hanover and other localities. Residents in the eastern portion of the county are serviced by Richmond's water treatment plant.
